Nude in Barcelona – Were you envisioning that the European nakation could be clothing-free with the more lenient laws on nudity over there ? Well the rules are shifting in Catalonia’s capital.
It pointed out that the law “doesn’t feature any article for sanctions against public nudity.” (Let’s design a leaflet like that for NYC please 😉

But it appears that folks will have to put their pants back on beginning late April as they’re banning public nudity. From the NY Times: “A committee of the city council approved a draft resolution empowering the police to stop people on the road who were nude or improperly dressed and to require them to cover themselves or face fines of up to $700.”
Seemingly this is an attempt to attract a better quality and amount of tourists, ie. not the ones who are visiting for mad parties with cheap alcohol and nude folks obviously. Considering url went publicly bare in the first place, I don’t see how prohibiting it’ll help with mad tourism difficulties. Well let us hope nothing changes on the nudist beaches! A Warm Reception Given To LA World Naked Bike Riders Through Los Angeles
LA Naked Bike Ride 2015 and Introducing a fresh column – the SCNA Naturist Re view :
Felicity has requested me / SCNA to contribute regular articles here on the FKK web site concerning the naturist movement, and especially what is occurring in and around Los Angeles.
In the past several years, we have found that interest in naturism among young adults has nearly burst across the southern half of California.
Gone is the importance of going into a gated naturist club to get nude with individuals who are old enough to be your parents or grandparents. A growing number of young people are finding more creative ways to enjoy their natural instinct to love the sun and breeze without clothes. This column intends to explore the many options open to anyone wanting to explore naturism in new and different manners.

The police estimated there were between 400-425 riders, a growth of about 100 riders from this past year.

We solicited sponsors for the portable toilets, and we secured liability insurance (required by the town or else we couldn’t get the license). Last, we fixed a food truck to sell sandwiches, water, and soda to the riders (this was much appreciated!) and we had another seller who handed out free biscuits for a small energy boost!

The smooth behind-the scenes process was commended by the LAPD after the race. The local sergeant in charge phoned us that evening to congratulate us on a successful ride with no complaints at all from any one of the officers who tracked the bike ride throughout the afternoon.
Although a lot of riders failed to notice them, we can now reveal that both uniformed and undercover police along both legs of the ride greatly tracked the ride.

There were many first-time riders, some of who came from all over Southern California, including some from San Diego and others from Bakersfield.

Of course, the creativity in decorating bodies in addition to motorcycles was simply amazing! We’d a seller supply free body paint to anyone wanting to have a sign painted on their bodies, and many of the riders thought that was a delightful idea!

These girls, who call themselves “desnudas” (Spanish word for “naked”), now seem to represent, for some at least, the forthcoming downfall of Times Square. We know this because Governor Cuomo told NY1, “I was around for the poor old Times Square and this is beginning to remind me of the bad old Times Square.”
What is the problem just with these topfree painted girls? The only real issue at hand appears to be aggressive panhandling. That is an issue which should pertain to all the costumed characters – topless or not – of Times Square (this contains Cookie Monster, Elmo, Spiderman, etc).
Aggressive panhandling is prohibited, but that hasn’t stopped some costumed folks from demanding tip money or a larger tip. There have also been reports, over the last few years, of characters beginning fights with each other, with visitors, groping adolescents and shoving people around.

Naturist Youth – I do not know how many of you listen to podcasts, but this Internet radio show music genre appears to have grown in popularity in the last few years. Yet, in the world of nudism, Stephane is ahead of the game because he’s the only nudist podcast on the planet right now and a large following to boot.
Stephane requested to interview me for this month’s show about young naturists, who we are and what we are doing. Afterward there’s an interview with me, followed by an interview with Jess of the website Naked Vegan Cooking. If you want some hints or guidance on bringing youth to nudism, listen to this podcast. Stephane knows what he’s doing. Naked Oaks is known for its youthful visitors, members and staff, and apparently they had hundreds of visitors under age 35 this past summer.
Stephane makes several great points, and I just need to quote him on one that I think gets overlooked. He states that a crucial part of attracting young people is having a “powerful naturist philosophy.” He says:
“I think you’ve got to be quite idealistic, I think you have to be an ethical naturistbecause when you’re young is when you’re at your most idealistic. That is when you are most involved in causes. That’s when a message of health and social justice and having a better world in general with regards to body acceptance and getting along together. That message calls truer when you are younger”

I think about my 24-year-old self and how I need to save the planet. So, yeah. This is absolutely true. As FKK, we have got this part covered. In reality it goes back to why we began FKK to begin with, because naturism to us is definitely about considerably more than just becoming naked. At its core, we consider the naturist movement should be about approval, as Stephane quotes us on. It is what makes us body favorable and sex-positive! We’ve got a set of ideals and causes we care about and fight for. While I believe there are people who merely need to get naked (or see nude people perhaps), I definitely agree with Stephane on this point, that it is an important aspect to consider when attempting to entice youth to the naturist movement.
In the segment with Jess, I think it is worth noting that his site is run by a small grouping of young adults who aren’t just about cooking naked, but also work to boost body positivity, health and comprehension of problems they care about. It’s also interesting to notice that although Jess participates in social nudity, he wouldn’t label himself a nudist or naturist. He hasn’t visited a fkk club, nor does he believe such areas are related to his practice of social nudity. He mentions there are many young individuals who try social nudism without thinking about it in fkk terms. We observe this trend ourselves merely in the numbers of individuals who haven’t visited any naturist club before attending a FKK gathering.
Matters to ponder!

This show generally does an excellent job of depicting alternate lifestyles, but their recent episode, “Fresh Year’s Eve,” was an eye-rolling letdown.

The nudists represented in the show are a fair sample of who you see at nudist resorts. They’re middle aged, friendly, and unabashed about stripping down. The crowd is relatively standard except for the creepy resort bell hop who first told the couple about the hot spring. He afterwards shows up with the nudists, and the consequence is that his goal was to see them naked.
Because only creepy pervs would tell you about a clothes-optional hot spring nearby, right? The producers don’t sexualize the scene – a good move – but they also don’t give us anything of material or anything we can learn from it, other than the cue that we should laugh at the nudists, not with them. Why can not Phil and Claire say, “Oh what the heck, we are already naked!” and go along with it? Why the faces of disgust? Yes, their private moment is ruined, but why freak out about being nude in front of individuals who definitely don’t care?
I get it. Anything we as a society do not comprehend is odd. And anything strange is erroneous. But talking from personal experience, as someone who had no exposure to nudism until maturity, NOTHING feels stranger than putting clothes back on after you’ve been without them for a weekend.
You start to think about how unneeded clothes are. How they tell us so much about someone before we have a chance to get to understand them. When we’re all nude, we’re all on a level playing field. There is nowhere to hide. And what you understand after getting over the initial giggles and shock that you can see everyone’s private parts is that we are all the same. There’s no status. There isn’t any context by which to judge others. What you are left with is something pure, unadulterated and liberating.
Picture standing in the cool summer rain with no clothes on. Why go inside, it is not like your clothes will get wet! Imagine swimming in a lake, unburdened by a sagging swimsuit. Imagine taking a shower with a smattering of fresh friends, all naked, and it isn’t odd.
Naked karaoke. Nude grilling. Naked yoga. Naked camping – now there’s something. Some might say I am being overly critical. Doesn’t every little bit of body-positive vision make a difference? Does it still benefit people to see other people’s bodies even if they’re somewhat covered up? Arguably, yes.
In a jpg of a woman in her bra and knickers, individuals still see her gut fat, stretch marks, wrinkles, cellulite, body contour, and so on. Nevertheless, covered up there are still sending the wrong message here – the human body is a thing that people should still be ashamed of.
In this day and age, I feel, we need raise the bar rather than capitulate to mainstream media standards. We need to challenge the shame that’s been forced upon us for god knows how long.
I simply don’t see any good reason to censor the human body and plenty of reasons why we should not.

CoEd Nude Philosophy Review
CoEd Nude Doctrine by Will Woods is a novel about a college philosophy professor named Christopher Ross who embarks on a journey to get societal nudity more accepted in mainstream society. The journey happens in southern Georgia and starts with his first experience on an unofficial nude beach, located on U.S. Navy territory (which is abruptly ended by his and others’ arrest for trespassing). From url on, Ross starts to challenge his preceding approaches towards nudity and the human form.
This fictional palace is like a faculty with the ideal learning environment. Why nude? Because, as he states in the book:
“Nudity is truth. Nudity is truthfulness. Paradoxically, nudity helps us see past gender, of which, again, garments is always an index and even an exaggerator.
Ross additionally describes it as an “environment where skin exposure helps exposure to new thoughts.” (Would it really do this? Who knows, but it is a fascinating notion.) He does not share his ideas when he determines to make this thought a reality on the first day of his new philosophy class. In an extremely gutsy move, he undresses in his office and proceeds down the hall entirely naked. There is a comical moment as one teacher almost finds him.
url welcomes everyone to the class and says, “this is what my body resembles. If you feel uncomfortable with my lack of clothes, I ‘ve two suggested options: undress, as much as you are willing, or leave.” A few depart, and those who remain determine to fully or partly undress.
